7 , IIF, New Delhi : IIF has signed another Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) with the prestigious Russian Academy
of Public Administration, a Federal State Institution
"North-Western Academy of Public Administration (NWAPA)
at St. Petersburg, Russia to further the cause of research
and education in the field of Finance and Administration
on 7th September 2007 at the Academy at Saint-Petersburg,
Russia.
On
the advice of Prof. Evgueny Solojentsev (Professor, Russian
Academy of Sciences IPME) the MoU signed between the Russian
Academy of Public Administration - NWAPA and Indian Institute
of Finance has been furthered in connection with our Chairman
Prof. J. D. Agarwal's visit to deliver the Opening Inaugural
Speech at the Russian Academy of Science IPME Scientific
Conference on 4th September 2007 in St. Petersburg [Text

The
academic collaboration would further the cause of enriching
research in Financial Administration and Financial Economics,
conduction of joint seminars, training programs and exchange
programs at both faculty and student levels. This would
also help build stronger Socio-cultural ties between the
two nations and its people.
The
North-Western Academy of Public Administration is a Federal
State Institute of Higher Professional Education under
the President of Russian Federation. It is a center of
excellence in imparting education and training to Russian
Civil Servants. There are more than 21,000 students enrolled,
along side 4,000 civil servants. The NWAPA library was
founded as the Library of the State Duma (Parliament)
of Russia and is housed with rare books and old collections
from the 17th and 18th Century. IIF is its First (1st)
Indian Academic Partner in the region from amongst 24th
partners from Germany, France, USA, Finland, Sweden, Denmark,
Italy, Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and China.
The
agreement was signed between Prof. A S Gorshkov, Rector,
North-Western Academy of Public Administration and Prof.
J. D. Agarwal, Chairman IIF, seconded by Prof. B. P. Ivchenko,
Director, Center of Problem of Regional Systems Sustainable
Development, RAS, and Prof. Aman Agarwal, Vice-Chairman
IIF during their visit to Russia.
Other
faculty of NWAPA Russia gracing the historic moment were
Dr. Evgenia Chernyavskaya, Department of International
Affairs, Vice-Rectors and other senior professors.
