Prof. J.D.Agarwal, Chairman &
Director, Indian Institute of Finance feels that it is a good budget
with a focus on agriculture and human face carrying further the second
phase of economic reforms.
Prof. Agarwal feels that the Budget would revive demand, promote investment
and accelerate growth in the economy. According to him, several proposals
are "pathbreaking in nature" such as deregulation of APM
of petrol prices resulting in reduction of petrol & diesel and
full convertibility of deposit schemes for NRIs etc.
However, Prof. Agarwal feels that increase in LPG & Kerosene prices
would hit the middle class adversly.
